Preguntas Frecuentes
MOUNT RORAIMA
- 01This is a moderate-to-high difficulty trek. We will hike 6 to 8 hours a day through uneven terrain, steep inclines, rivers, and mud, carrying our own personal gear. While you don't need to be an elite athlete, excellent cardiovascular endurance is essential. We highly recommend a training routine focused on hiking or cardio at least 8 weeks before departure. Click below to learn more about our difficulty level classifications.
- 02Our certified Tour Guides are trained in Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder (WFA/WFR) protocols, and carry a comprehensive expedition medical kit. In case of a major emergency, a ground evacuation protocol to the community of Paraitepuy is immediately activated with the support of our porters. Please note that all participants are required to have travel insurance that covers adventure sports and rescue operations.

- 04Water is sourced directly from the pristine rivers of the Guiana Shield, known for being among the purest on earth. Nevertheless, to ensure the strict biological safety of our explorers, all water intended for consumption is purified using professional filtration systems or water purification tablets before being served to the group.
- 05Premium high-mountain tents, engineered to withstand strong winds and torrential rains, are included. The base rate covers a shared tent (double occupancy). While thermal sleeping pads are provided as part of our logistics, each traveler is required to bring their own sleeping bag rated for temperatures as low as 5°C.
- 06To protect Mount Roraima's extremely fragile and endemic ecosystem, we enforce a strict eco-friendly policy. We use specialized restroom tents equipped with portable toilets, lime, and biodegradable bags, and our operations team carries all human waste off the mountain. Additionally, conventional soaps are not allowed in the rivers; only 100% biodegradable products may be used.
- 07Each explorer is responsible for carrying their own backpack with personal gear (clothing, sleeping bag, pad, and water), weighing an average of 10 to 12 kg. Our staff handles all logistics for the main campsite, shared tents, and meals. If you prefer to hike light, we offer an optional private porter service from the local Pemon community for an additional cost. This service must be arranged at least 3 weeks prior to the trip.
- 08We design a nutritious, balanced, and high-energy backcountry menu, freshly prepared by our camp kitchen team. It includes hot breakfasts, trail lunches (light yet calorie-dense for the trek), and hearty, comforting dinners. Vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-friendly options are available, provided they are requested at the time of booking.
- 09The weather is highly unpredictable. While the savanna is warm and sunny, ranging from 25°C to 30°C, temperatures at the summit of Roraima can plummet to 5°C or lower at night, accompanied by dense fog and sudden downpours. A high-quality waterproof jacket (like Gore-Tex or similar), waterproof pants, and heavy-duty rain ponchos are strictly required.
- 10The Gran Sabana region and the indigenous Pemon communities are highly peaceful areas entirely dedicated to ecotourism. Our team accompanies and guides passengers through all official border control procedures. Once the route begins, cellular signal drops completely; therefore, our lead guide carries an active satellite communication device to report the expedition's status and handle any logistical emergencies in real time.
