Experience in the Heart of the Amazon
(Lake of Ipanema- 3 days/ 2 nights)

DAY 1.- EXPEDITION BETWEEN RIVERS AND RAINFOREST. (Lake of Ipanema)

Hotel Meeting at, approximately, 08:00. Our guide will pick you up directly from your accommodation to begin the adventure. We head to the Ceasa Port, where we’ll board a speedboat bound for the breathtaking natural phenomenon known as the “Meeting of the Waters,” where the Amazon and Negro rivers flow side by side without mixing. After witnessing this spectacular river display, we continue by boat to the port of Careiro da Várzea. There, we’ll take a Combi van along the legendary BR-319 highway, crossing jungle landscapes for about an hour until we reach the Mamorí River.

At Mamorí, we’ll board a boat that will take us through Amazonian channels and lakes to the Amazon Ipanema Lodge, located directly across from Lake Ipanema. We’ll arrive around midday to enjoy a regional lunch and settle into our rooms. In the afternoon (15:00), we’ll explore the flooded forest in a motorized canoe, navigating through igapós, floating islands, and hidden channels. We’ll have the chance to observe local wildlife, including the Tucuxi dolphin (Sotalia fluviatilis), exotic birds, and the magical sunset over Lake Ipanema. Upon returning to our jungle lodge, a comforting dinner awaits. Then, we’ll head out once more for a unique experience: nocturnal wildlife observation, including caiman spotting with flashlights- an exciting and safe activity that unveils the mysteries of the rainforest under the stars. (-/L/D)

DAY 2.- FROM THE SILENCE OF THE RIVER TO THE WHISPER OF THE FOREST. (River Journey and Jungle Adventure)

Prepare yourself for a magical and serene experience: a sunrise canoe expedition. As the first golden rays illuminate the calm waters, you’ll glide silently through channels and igarapés, enveloped by the symphony of awakening nature. Along the way, you may spot exotic birds in flight- macaws, herons, kingfishers, and other rare species painting the sky with their vibrant plumage. The highlight of the morning is the encounter with wild river dolphins, both gray and pink, gracefully surfacing to breathe and play. These charming mammals are iconic symbols of the Amazon and offer unforgettable moments of connection with wildlife.

After the water journey, the adventure continues with a guided jungle hike. This walk is a deep immersion into local biodiversity, where every step reveals new details of flora and fauna. Along the trail, we’ll make strategic stops to observe fascinating insects such as leafcutter ants, multicolored butterflies, beetles, and camouflaged spiders- as well as medicinal plants, bromeliads, orchids, and lianas that form a lush ecosystem. We’ll spend the night camping in the primary rainforest- an intense and transformative experience. The overnight stay takes place in a safe area, with expert guidance, allowing you to embrace the profound silence of the jungle and the nocturnal sounds of animals in their natural habitat. (B/L/D)

DAY 3.- BETWEEN PALM TREES, SNAKES, AND LIVING MEMORIES. (Palms, Snakes and Living Memories)

Dawn greets us with the fresh aromas of the rainforest and a breakfast surrounded by primary vegetation, where birdsong accompanies every sip of coffee. With renewed energy, we prepare for an ancestral activity: climbing açaí palms (Euterpe oleracea), learning traditional techniques used by local communities to harvest this sacred Amazonian fruit. Along the way, we observe unique tree species- some with medicinal bark, others with imposing shapes that seem to guard the forest’s secrets. Every trunk, every root tells a story of resilience and natural wisdom.

The day becomes even more thrilling as we set out in search of the Jiboia (Boa constrictor), the majestic Amazonian snake, a symbol of power and transformation. With respect and caution, we explore its habitat, remaining alert to other mammals that silently cross our path- such as the woolly monkey (Lagothrix lagotricha), the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), or the elusive agouti (Dasyprocta spp). By late morning, we return to the lodge, where a refreshing bath restores us and prepares us for a farewell lunch. Local flavors accompany this final moment of reflection before we begin the journey back to Manaus, carrying in our hearts the living memories of a rainforest that transformed us. (B/L/-)
